SMS gateway is an Android app developed by Theis Borg (Theis Borg Syriensvej 24, st -2 2300 Copenhagen S Denmark). Others apps created by Theis Borg are: Lost Android, AndroidLost Tracker.

SMS gateway first became available on 02 Sep 2012. It is estimated that SMS gateway has been downloaded between 5000 and 10000 times from the Play Store.

SMS gateway 1.5 requires the following permissions:

Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.

Allows applications to open network sockets.

Allows read only access to phone state, including the phone number of the device, current cellular network information, the status of any ongoing calls, and a list of any PhoneAccounts registered on the device.

Allows an application to read SMS messages.

Allows an application to receive SMS messages.

Allows an application to send SMS messages.

Allows access to the vibrator.

Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
